FAQ

Can I have a microneedling procedure if I have active acne?

Microneedling is used to smooth acne scars and fine lines. Microneedling cannot be performed if you have an active breakout. Other procedures such as skin purifying, extractions, and acne facials, can be performed so your skin recovers prior to undergoing a microneedling treatment.

What is the extraction process?

A facial extraction works to clear blocked pores. If this is your first acne facial procedure, you may need several extractions. When your pores and skin are clean and fresh, it is less likely that blemishes will develop.

What is rosacea therapy?

At Bella Vi, our specialists use Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy to treat rosacea. This involves applying gentle light pulses to your skin to address the redness and other areas of uneven skin pigmentation. The procedure is not painful. All you will feel is a gentle snapping sensation against your skin. It is safe – and it works.

What will my skin look like after microdermabrasion?

After your microdermabrasion treatment, your skin may be slightly sensitive and feel tight. The areas treated may have a pinkish glow, which fades within 24 hours. Microdermabrasion does not require anesthetic or long recovery time. The treatment reveals fresh, healthy skin, and reduces the appearance of acne scars.

How long before I see results?

The time it takes to get a result is based on what treatments we performed. For some more severe cases, you may need several weeks or longer to achieve optimal results. The factors that come into play include:

  • The severity and type of acne
  • Your skin type
  • The procedures we perform

The first step is a private consultation and an evaluation of your skin. Many cases of acne can be treated with a combination of methods. You want results – and we will do what it takes to bring you relief.

Practice policy update regarding covid-19 Learn More Virtual Consultation

Dear Bella Vi Spa & Aesthetics patients,

Your health and safety will always be our number one priority and concern. During the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, we are continuing to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and sterilization in our office in order to ensure the safety of our patients. This means that our private cleaning service and staff at both Bella Vi Spa & Franklin Family Physicians will continue to ensure that the practice uses medical grade cleaning and sanitizing solutions, as well as increasing the frequency of sterilizing all surfaces in our offices.

At Bella Vi Spa & Aesthetics, we are fortunate to be able to continue seeing patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, as long as it is permitted by current guidelines and safe for both staff and patients. We will also offer any patients the option to reschedule their appointments due to the COVID-19 outbreak without a cancellation fee. We will continue to stagger appointment times and screen patients upon their arrival.

Dr. Goodman and staff will continue to see patients for consultations, injectables and additional upcoming procedures. We will also offer virtual consultations, if needed. We will continue to follow the latest recommendations from the CDC, and we encourage all patients to update health and physical records. We will continue normal hours of operation with the following precautions:

  1. If you have sore throat, cough, fever, or shortness of breath, please call and reschedule your appointment. Contact your Primary Care Provider for additional information.
  2. If you have had any interstate or international travel in the last 2 weeks, please call and reschedule your appointment.
  3. If you have been in close contact with someone who has been or may have been exposed to COVID-19, please call and reschedule your appointment.

We ask that patients do not bring any non-essential guests with them to upcoming appointments, including the ederly, children, or people with pre-existing conditions.

We have also informed staff not to come to work if they feel sick or have been potentially exposed to COVID-19 (the virus has an incubation period of up to two weeks). We have hand sanitizer available upon check in, as well as additional sanitizing supplies available in every treatment room for both patients and staff. We ask that patients try to maintain a personal separation space of six feet from others.

Patient health has been and always will be our top priority. These steps, along with your personal cautiousness, will help Bella Vi Spa & Aesthetics play our role in keeping our community safe and healthy. If you have any questions regarding these measures, do not hesitate to call our office, send us an email, or message us on Facebook- we are always here for you.

Sincerely,

Carol Ann Goodman, MD and Bella Vi Team
