What is a lip filler, and how does it work?
The lip fillers we offer at Bella Vi are FDA-approved dermal fillers which are injected with microneedles to increase lip volume and definition. The two main ingredients found in lip fillers are hyaluronic acid and lidocaine. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally produced by your body. When synthetic hyaluronic acid is injected into your lips, it provides a natural cushion to plump up the volume and enhance the contours of your mouth. Lidocaine is a mild local anesthetic that reduces the discomfort of the microinjections. Results usually last for up to a year, after which time you can return for a touch-up treatment to retain your youthful look.

When will I see results?
You will see and enjoy the results of your lip filler immediately after treatment. The full effect will gradually improve in the following two weeks as the filler settles.
What are the side effects?
Side effects, which are minimal, disappear within a few days and may include mild irritation and swelling at the treatment site. They can be minimized using arnica cream. We will also give you aftercare instructions at your consultation. We do recommend, however, that you avoid direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and vigorous exercise for a couple of days after treatment as these can negatively impact your results.
What happens if I don’t like my lip filler?
If for some reason, you are not happy with your treatment, your specialist can inject an enzyme known as hyaluronidase into your lips to speed up the rate at which the filler breaks down. The procedure takes a few minutes, and the results are immediate, although it may take a couple of days for the swelling to resolve.
